What is Neck Barrel?

The spine has to carry out the movement function in addition to opposing body weight and external forces acting in the vertical direction. Therefore, it should have two conflicting characteristics such as being stable and moving. This dual feature is provided by the partition structure of the spinal column and the discs between the vertebrae. The discs absorb the forces applied in the vertical direction, side tilting and turning. The position of the human being on both feet increases the forces reflected on the disk. As a result, discs between the vertebrae are worn out with age. Load absorption capabilities and durability are reduced, herniation may develop. Though it does not carry much weight, it is susceptible to spoilage and disc herniation due to its moving structure. Each vertebra in the neck region spreads in the arm and the back in the nerves coming out of the body axis, and provides the senses and movement of these regions. The gelatinous interior of the disk tissue between the vertebrae reveals a posterior neck stump that tears the outer part of the stronger connective tissue and presses on the spinal cord and nerve.

Neck Barrel Symptoms

It affects the spinal cord, spinal cord and nerve roots, most commonly in the 30-40s of life. The indication of the neck stiffness varies depending on the duration and severity of the disease, instead of the stiffness. The most commonly encountered cervical spine is:

Unilateral, a pain spreading to the arm,
Pain spread to the tips of the fingers and accompanied by numbness.
Loss of strength in the cords spread with pain.
To reduce the objects
Walking difficulty and imbalance
The neck can be divided acutely and chronically into two turns. In the acute phase: the nucleus pulposus is herniated or released, while in the chronic period there is a picture of the formation of galls in the bone (osteophyte) or the common degeneration of the structures that make up the spinal system in general and cervical spondylosis. Acute neck disc herniation; one-sided, scabbard, chest pain spreading to the upper extremity. Pain may increase with coughing, sneezing and sneezing.

If pain and numbness are frequent and you do not pass by bed rest for a certain period, you should definitely consult a brain and neurosurgeon.

Reasons for Neck Barrier

Deformations in the neck may begin at an earlier age, as the neck protrusion is more delicate than the neck and waist with the many necks attached. Keeping the same point for a long time, keeping it at the same point for a long time, spending a long time in front of a computer or a television, exposure to cold air temperature and not exercising are among the main causes of cervical canal.

The neck can also occur in some people due to their structural properties. Usually thin, delicate and long necked people are seen more often in the neck neck, short necked people. Muscle structures of this type are weaker and are much more easily affected by environmental factors and lifestyle. If they are concerned about their bad use, they are at higher risk of neck pain. In people with short necks and flat head structure, the rate of neck stiffness is much lower.

Smoking is also among the causes that increase the risk of cervical spinal stenosis. Especially at younger ages, the neck structure deteriorates in a very short time. While cigarette smoking causes cancer in lung cancer for a long period of time such as 20 years, cigarette smokers are exposed to cervical cancer in the first 5 years. Genetic factors are also effective on the cervical canal. If a person has a neck stump in his or her family, the risk of a hernia increases.

Inappropriate working and sleeping positions are creating the basis for the formation of the neck. Sleeping in situ is an important factor in the cervical spine. People with this type of accomodation need to use a neck pillow. Orthopedic pillows that support the neck and fill the neck cavity should be used for at least 6-8 hours of sleep at night. The time spent in the wrong sleeping position increases the risk of catching the neck.

Risk factors for the neck canal;

Traffic accidents, trauma, driving, working in such professions as banking,
The wrong movements and wrong positions of the neck,
Weakness in the neck muscles,
Misstance, psychological stress, fatigue
Long-term computer use
Nonprofessional massage
Activities such as housework, sewing, embroidery, cleaning, curtain hanging, wiping are factors that increase neck pain. This is why the incidence of neck sores is higher in women.
